Today I am grateful

Think Better Perform Better: be grateful for what is good in life, not what is stressful

What would it be like if we were able to focus on the things that are consistent and normal, yet also profoundly great. What would happen if we were able to consciously focus on simple things and less stressful days.

How often do you sit down and consciously look for the things that you are most grateful to have?

I am currently sitting in a room with big windows and looking outside, and even though it is autumn, the weather is sunny and seasonable warm for London. There is a slight breeze but little clouds in the sky.

The world is full of so much stress and so much change. Everyone is constantly looking for the things that are abnormal. Everyone is constantly looking for the things that they want to change. Everyone is always looking for the things that should not be there, the things they want to change.
How often do we stop and look for the things that are normal. How often do you recognise the things that you do not want to change. How often you do recognise the things that you are grateful for?

Like me, you probably have a lot of things in your life that are day to day that you take for granted. You do not think about them until they are taken away.

What would it be like if you were able to focus on the things that are consistent and normal but they are also profoundly great?

What would it be like if we were able to consciously focus on simple things like the wind; simple things like the sun shine; simple things like having clean running water.

My goal in life is helping people to perform better, to think better. There is nothing more detrimental to your performance than thinking chronically with a negative outlook. There is nothing that will bring you down biologically and physiologically than negative thinking.

You are literally weaker than me because your are focussed on the bad. You are literally slower than me, your neurons can not fire as fast as mine, your blood does not flow through your veins as well as mine, because you are stressed and think about all the abnormalities in life and not appreciating the things in your life that are normal and wonderful.. Rather than getting into the state at which you are designed to operate.

Focus on the areas of your life that are moving forward and your are proud they are. Focus on the things that are common but special. Focus on the things that you are grateful for and the things in your life that if you did not have or they did not work that you would be disappointed but, hallelujah!, they work and are still in your life today.

This is how you can optimise your performance and well-being ever single day. This is how you can enrich your fulfilment of your life. Whether you are quarantined at home or not.

There are things in your life that if you just focus on them they will bring a sense of calm, peace and excitement. Wherever you attention is going, they are the things that you are most likely to get most out of. Focus on the right things and grow.
