Mark Sisson.
This 70-year-old defies ageing by combining evolutionary biology and modern biohacking methods.
Here’s his blueprint for staying young forever:
1) The Primal Diet
80% of body composition comes from what you eat.
Thus, eat the foods your body is designed to receive (the pyramid below).
Avoid vegetable oils, grains, or anything highly processed to reduce systemic inflammation.
The goal of his primal diet is to achieve metabolic flexibility. It means your body can better accommodate its energy demands depending on its needs in the moment.
2) Mark’s Supplements
- Selenium
In my work, we do personalised supplementation based on easy to implement finger prick blood tests. Instead of guessing, we give your body what it needs.
3) Move Frequently
The idea behind frequent movement is to mimic the movements of our ancestors.
Mark’s exercise routine comprises:
- Play
- Walking
- Micro-workouts
- Resistance training
He explains it below:
4) Get Plenty of Sleep
Quality sleep is essential for:
- Brain function
- Healing and repair of cells
- Regulation of the nervous system
Not getting enough sleep = poor mental and physical performance. After testing hundreds of sleep hacks with my clients, we boiled it down to these fundamentals:
- Keep the room cool
- Follow the 9:3:1 rule
- Discover your chronotype
- Use light to your advantage
- Supplement with magnesium
- Use the app “Sleep Cycle” as an alarm
- Maintain a consistent sleep/wake schedule
5) Avoid poison
This doesn’t have to be complicated. Avoid exposure to:
- Chemical toxins
- Mercury in certain fish
- Processed sugars and foods
6) Mark’s Biohacking Tools
- Stand-up desk
- Blue light blockers
- Minimalist footwear
- Water filtration system
- High-quality cookware (cast iron)
- UVB lamps (for adequate light exposure)
7) Hormetic stress
Chronic stress speeds up aging, while hormetic stress can slow it down.
Hormetic stressors:
Balancing these with proper relaxation is how you master your nervous system.
I created the Strong Body Strong Mind Challenge, a 6 weeks program to introduce you to some of these concepts. Which of the above do you want to learn more about. Leave a comment and I will send you a FREE resource!
